The Branch County Substance Abuse Task Force (SATF) began in 2004 to primarily address the devastation surrounding methamphetamine use. Today, the task force is involved in community mobilization and education of the effects of all substance use issues in our county. These include but are not limited to: methamphetamine, underage drinking and tobacco use, heroin addiction, prescription and over-the-counter abuse, illegal marijuana use, suicide prevention, and other emerging drugs of abuse.
The primary focus of the SATF is on prevention. Stopping substance abuse before it happens increases a person’s ability to live a longer, healthier, and productive life.
Prevention Works. Treatment is Effective. Recovery Happens.
